As our challenge to read Jesus the Christ came to an end, we had a special activity to share in what we learned.
The YW were brought to the room two by two and their feet were washed.
As they entered the room, they were invited to take a small numbered stone from a bowl and find a seat around the room. Each table was set with a small meal similar to what Christ might've eaten at the Last Supper. The menu included white grape juice (as wine), bitter herbs (romaine lettuce), unleavened bread (flatbread), dried figs & dates, olives, goat cheese, and hummus. Sis. Xanthos explained some of the symbolism and significance of those foods.
Sis Sharp shared some thoughts and invited each of the YW & leaders to share something they learned from Jesus the Christ, or their testimony, or a favorite story of Christ in order by the numbered stones.
Truly a special and spirit-filled evening.
We hope you will continue on reading, whether you're still finishing the challenge or you're starting for a second time!
